Course Delivery

Course delivery moves authored catalog content from Studio to learners in Campus. Content assigned to a Space becomes available in the learner’s Learn surface, where Courses and Pathways appear as cards and every Lesson runs in the Lesson Player. Assignments add deadlines and pacing on top of that access: Assign mode delivers self-paced work, and Host mode runs live or scheduled sessions that the educator controls in real time. Campus and Console messaging — channels, group discussions, and direct messages — carries the communication around that delivery.

TermDefinition
AssignmentCatalog content (a Collection, Course, Section, or Lesson) published to one Space with settings such as dates, time limit, and attempts.
AssignThe self-paced assignment mode: the learner completes the work on their own time, and the score submits automatically on finish.
HostThe live or scheduled assignment mode: the educator launches a session, learners join with a session code or assignment link, and everyone answers the same question at the same time.
Learn surfaceThe Campus section listing the learner’s Courses, Pathways, and assignments, with search, sort, filter, and grid/list views.
Lesson PlayerThe Campus session that presents a Lesson’s Elements one at a time, with a chunked progress bar, immediate feedback, streaks, and a results summary.
ChannelA Space discussion surface, managed from Console and used by learners through the Campus Inbox alongside direct messages.

Assignment status moves through Draft, Active, Ended, and Archived on the educator side; learners see Pending, In Progress, Completed, or Missed. Recurring assignments can be paused (stops generating new instances) or ended (stops future instances, keeps past ones). Live sessions are launched with a generated session code, advanced question by question, and closed with End Session, which stops responses and finalizes scores. Collections carry a public or private status set in the catalog.

  • An assignment is scoped to a single Space. Delivering the same content to several Spaces requires one assignment per Space, which also permits different due dates or time limits per Space.
  • After publication, an assignment’s content cannot be swapped; a new assignment is required. Title, due date, and settings remain editable — and a due-date change affects every Student in the Space, including those who already submitted.
  • Each recurrence of a recurring assignment is a fresh attempt; progress does not carry over, and each attempt is recorded separately in Results. Edits apply to future instances only.
  • In Assign mode the score submits automatically when the learner finishes. Exiting the Lesson Player mid-lesson saves progress for resume, and the results screen offers a retry.
  • In Host mode, learners who join late or disconnect have partial attempt data; their score reflects only the questions answered before disconnecting. Host sessions are time-sensitive — a missed window requires the educator to reschedule or provide an alternative.
  • Educators control visibility end to end: learners see only the Courses, Pathways, and assignments made available to them, and content disappears from Campus if it is unpublished or the enrollment is removed.
  • During lessons, correct answers in a row build a streak that earns bonus coins; streaks reset on an incorrect answer depending on the lesson settings.
  • Live response monitoring (response counts, answer distribution, individual answers) is visible in the host view only; the leaderboard is the broadcast surface and updates in real time.
